An xOverTime business process:
Create an xOverTime upload template in an existing spreadsheet. Reference the important variables you wish to store and share. Click Upload.
xOverTime handles all of the database work for you. It inserts the data from your spreadsheet and then automatically keeps track of changes as you continue to update.
Now your data is available for sharing and analysis across the enterprise – with other people or systems.
You can define new variables and upload new data at any time – and keep track of hourly, daily, monthly or asynchronous data.
By logging in to your dashboard you can view the data you’ve previously uploaded. xOverTime lets you see important trends with your variables such as: the type of data stored, changes over time and company impact. The source spreadsheet for all data are also stored to support improved data governance.
Create catalogs to organize and manage your data. Select a catalog to see trends in your data for any of the variables in the catalog. You can add new variables, zoom in, scroll, export to a spreadsheet, create a jpeg or further filter the data for analysis.
Using xOverTime you can securely share catalogs with anyone who needs to access your data while restricting what they see to only the pieces you allow.
You have ultimate control over who can access and download the information that you own, and you can change those permissions at any time. You can even see who is downloading your data and how often. A whole new clarity can come from which data is most important to your company and where it’s needed.
Additionally, anyone you share with can supplement their own data and use it in their spreadsheet to further increase your company efficiency. You can set up notifications for anyone to be alerted when data is updated instead of searching for new files in an inbox. Stop making decisions based on outdated versions of files!
Downloading shared data is as simple as creating an xOverTime Download Template in a spreadsheet. Click Download, and the data automatically populates the spreadsheet from your xOverTime spreadsheet server in the cloud.
You can also download data over any period of time. Perform trend analysis, reporting and aggregation on all of your data from multiple sources or owners. You might want to store your new analysis results back into xOverTime. Simple – just repeat what you did in Step 1.
